If you are considering immigration to Canada, you should take the official English test in Canada. Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) recognizes CELPIP and IELTS as official English language scores.

2) The difference between CELPIP and IELTS

* CELPIP

 The CELPIP exam has been specially designed to assess the core language skills required for permanent residency and citizenship in Canada. This test uses Canadian English while reading texts and listening content use Canadian-related materials such as Canadian-related issues and news. When you take the test, you will use the computer and if you take the test to write, the computer will spell check automatically.

* IELTS

 IELTS is used for the study, employment, and immigration. The IELTS test is used around the world, so the accent of several native speakers from Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, and the United States is included in the listening section. The test is papered, and the speaking is in real time with the examiners.

3) Summary

 If you live outside Canada, it is a good idea to prepare for the IELTS exam. The CELPIP exam is only available in Canada, and the study material is more than CELPIP. By preparing your English score first, you can reduce the time and energy required for immigration.

 However, we recommend you take the CELPIP exam for people who live in Canada and are comfortable with computer-based systems. When you take a speaking test, you will be able to see and respond to the computer screen, and you will not have to consider the various countries accent when listening.
