CELPIP Speaking Task 5 - Comparing and persuading Outline & Key point

1) Outline


- In the first statement, you should choose one of the two photo/pictures that you like, based on the shape and characteristics (product price, features, appearance, key features, etc.) of the product.

- In the first announcement, 60 seconds are given for the selection and there is no separate speaking task. When you do not make a selection, the computer automatically picks up your choice and goes to the second prompt.

- In the second prompt, another photo/ picture other than the selected photo / picture is presented.

- I have to explain / convince the reason why my choice is better than the new one.




2) Key point

- Task 5 concerns the use of expressions related to preference / non-preference, comparison / contrast. Therefore, you should be aware of the main phrases related to preferences and comparisons of the subject by head and mouth.

- In the first announcement, we check each fact (difference) introduced in the two pictures / photographs, and then summarize the reason of the finally selected picture / picture in the head, and recall necessary vocabulary and expressions 




- In the second announcement, we check each fact (difference) introduced in the two pictures / photographs, and then summarize the reasons of the finally selected picture / picture in the head, and recall the necessary vocabulary and expressions

- The difference between the two options is to compare at least three items

- Task 5 Speaking sequence is as follows.

* A, B, C, D .. difference between choices

1. Express your preference in one sentence

2. Describe the characteristics / values ​​that I prefer in A

3. Selective comparison / pros and cons of A

4. Describe the characteristics / values ​​that I prefer in B

5. Choice comparison / pros and cons of B

Differences between the choices should be explained by paraphrasing the presented facts
